Suction
Regulator |
 | |
|
 |
|
Suction regulator controls
the quantity of air which will be sucked by the Air-End,
depending on air pressure and running conditions.
Consequently, it regulates the compressed air delivery of
the Air-End. When the suction regulator's air intake valve
is open, the Air-End delivers compressed air with maximum
capacity. That is called as "running on load". When the
air intake valve is closed, the Air-End delivers
compressed air with minimum quantity, only for internal
control cycle. That is called as "running off load". |

• Tahser Screw Compressors |

|
 |
|
Stationary (electrical), single stage, oil injected rotary
screw compressor units. |
Running
Principle:
When the compressor unit has been started, the compressor
runs off load till the main motor completes it's startup.
Then, the suction regulator's air intake valve opens and
the compressor begins to run on load.
When the system pressure reaches to minimum output
pressure level, minimum pressure valve opens and
compressed air passes to the unit's outlet. While running on load, if
the output air pressure increases to the upper
limit, suction regulator's air intake valve closes and the
compressor begins to runs off load. In this phase, there
is no compressed air delivery from the minimum pressure
valve. And, there is only an internal circulation air
pressure before the minimum pressure valve, in the sytem.
When the output air pressure decreases to lower limit, the
compressor unit loads itself again, begins and continues
to running on load till the next upper limit signal
occurence. Also, upper limit pressure is called as maximum
working pressure. As a safety addition, there is an over
pressure switch circuit which stops running of the
compressor if the system pressure overs maximum working
pressure setting due to any control failures. In Tahser
compressor units, pressure values are monitored by
transducers which send analog signals to the PLC. The PLC
performs required function depending on analog signal
which represents related pressure values. In addition to
analog pressure inputs, a pressure switch is used as over
pressure saffety device which sends on/off signal directly
to the controller. Also, an analog signal based
temperature monitoring is performed to protect system
against over working temperatures etc.

Separator |
 | |
|
 |
For oil injected screw
compressors, air compression performed by Air-End
with help of oil. Also, the oil absorbes heat which
is resulted from air compression and it lubricates
the Air-End's rotor bearings. So, it is required to
separate oil from air and to cool oil before
returning it into the Air-End, again. Separator is a
filter which separates air from oil and delivers air
to the out, prevents oil to pass from inside to out. |

Minimum Pressure Valve |
 | |
|
Air-End delivers oil mixed compressed air to the oil
reservoir tank, then to separator. The compressed
air passes through the separator and comes to the
minimum pressure valve. Minimum pressure valve prevents
air to pass the compressor unit's outlet when the system
pressure is under the minimum circulation pressure. It
is required to keep system internal pressure at minimum
level by preventing it to be less than oil circulation
and suction regulator control pressure level. Also, it
is useful for keeping separation pressure which prevents
excessive air and oil flow through separator. In
addition to above functions, minimum pressure valve is a
non-return valve and prevents compressed air flow on
reverse direction, from the unit's outlet to system
inside.

Oil-Air Cooler |
 | |
|
In oil injected compressor units, oil performs compression
sealing, lubricant and cooling fluid functions. It
absorbes heat while compression stages in the Air-End. It
is necessary to cool oil to the normal level via oil
cooler for keeping compressor's running temperature within
proper limits. Oil is cooled by circulating it through an air
cooling type oil cooler. Then, cooled oil returns into the
Air-End injection port after passing through oil filter.
In addition to oil coooling, compressed air is cooled just
before coming to the compressor unit's outlet or just
after compressor unit's outlet. The main purpose of
compressed air cooling is to condense moisture in
compressed air then to drain the condenstate more easily.
And, to reduce the load of the compressed air dryer unit
if it will be used. |
